Endearing indie-popsters NewDad have shared an infectious new single in 'Ladybird'. Retaining its working title, as many great songs do, vocalist Julie explains: "I wrote the song after watching the film ‘Ladybird’, the chord progression reminded me of the Dave Matthew’s song that’s played throughout the film so I initially named it after that." Lyrically diving into social anxiety and the give and take dynamics of not just romantic, but all relationships, 'Ladybird' is a respectful nod to the 2017 feature film reimagined through a lens of jangly, tremolo-steeped guitars, melodic bass guitar and pin-point accurate drumming. As ever, Julie's vocals are sugary sweet, caressing your ear drums softly, whilst a mix from the highly-regarded John Congleton takes the tune to the next level.
