MINOR CONFLICT SECOND-HAND TIME

Accompanied by a suitably eerie video, experimentally-inclined Bristol trio Minor Conflict have revealed their curious new single, 'Second-Hand Time'. Whimsical and disorientating in its approach, vigorous harp strikes flutter atop of a cyclical bass line, reminiscent of ESG or The B-52's. Forming a lyrical collage with overlapping dual vocals, Minor conflict explain: "Second-Hand Time" is inspired by the concept of oral histories told from many perspectives, with lyrics shifting perspective and setting, including a rewilded London in the first verse. The references range from Jimmy Reed to Osip Mandelstam and the last letters of Leon Trotsky.” The band's debut EP Bright Lights, Bright City will be released on the 18th of August through PRAH Recordings and you can catch them live in London or at Green Man Festival this summer. -Holly Mullineaux
