MAX WINTER BUTTERCUP

A genuine diamond in the rough of South London's music scene, Max Winter reveals the breathtaking 'Buttercup'. Earnest and unmistakably odd in its uncanny production style, intricate guitar work carries Winter's gentle, dusky vocals. Layered with distorted synths, that call out like sirens from the previously delicate soundscape, there's a break in the clouds two thirds of the way through the track, where Winter's compositional prowess shines through. Giving enough to leave us wanting more (a lot more), Winter covers a lot of ideas in less than 2 and a half minutes, whilst managing to give space to all of them. One to watch if ever there was one, you can catch him live at Club Cheek in Brixton on the 29th of October. We've got our tickets. -Holly Mullineaux
