MATT HOLUBOWSKI TWO PAPER MOONS
Taken from his upcoming (February 21st) record Weird Ones, Matt Holubowski has dropped the incredible ‘Two Paper Moons’. Despite the drum kit and the guitar of the track’s opening moments playing with dexterous speed, the end result is somehow a soothing, relaxed tone. This is pushed forward by perfectly placed chord changes and the occasional delicate sound effect. His harmonised vocal in the chorus is catchy and breathy, and despite the spookily heavy atmosphere of the track, there is a noticeably uplifting tone found within his vocal. There are clear influences from Ben Howard and Bon Iver found in ‘Two Paper Moons’, so it’ll be interesting to see how these influences combine with Holubowski’s mature songwriting skill to create the rest of Weird Ones. - Dan Peeke
