Man/Woman/Chainsaw share ‘Adam & Steve’, their most melodic offering yet. The new single ie the first track they’ve shared since the release of their debut EP Eazy Peazy last November. It’s a rare moment of restraint which sees the established sextet pull back on their intriguing sonic chaos, revealing a melodically rich palette. The lyrical exchange between Billy Ward (vocals/guitar) and Vera Leppänen (bass/vocals) is, as stated by Ward, “…our own bittersweet take on the heart-on-sleeve love song. It comes from a place of wanting to find a little fairy tale escapism in modern romance.” The bittersweet taste comes out in the glow of keys, violin and harmonious vocals alongside heavier riffs and a shanty-esque, tug-of-war style chorus. It’s a compelling juxtaposition, a new layer of Man/Woman/Chainsaw’s identity which embraces their unpredictable spirit.
