Having gained a name on the UK’s live circuit recounting “tales of desire and moments of wonder” through a smokey blend of jazz, funk, and soul, London-based 4-piece Mama Moonshine are back with their latest eclectic cut ‘Mr. Shy’. Arguably their strongest release to date, ‘Mr. Shy’ follows in the same vein as previous singles ‘Love Fool’ and ‘Sisters’, deftly exploring themes of love and lust with retro grooves and typically electrifying performances from frontwoman Ruth Armitt, guitarist Phil Taylor, bassist AB Benson and drummer Mark Buckwell. ‘Mr. Shy’ is also accompanied by the band’s first video - a sensuous, playfully psychedelic set of visuals from animator Louis Grosperrin which perfectly complements the vibrant instrumentation at play.
