Emerging Queensland artist Majella is dead certain to pique the interest of the future R&B crowd with his rawer, but no less thrilling take on Ben Khan's previously squirming, claustrophobic bedroom production techniques. 'On & On', his latest offering, is a three minute burst of zoned-out guitars, spiraling waves of syrup-drenched synths and charmingly wonky vocals; it's by no means got the refined textures of Khan's more recent work, but what it does show is that Majella has all the right tools and seriously solid foundations to build on.
