MAJA LENA NO MORE FLOWERS

Having won our hearts with the mystical sounds of her debut album The Keeper, we were thrilled to discover that Maja Lena's sophomore album Pluto will arrive on the 18th of November. Welcoming us to the world of Pluto is a gently somber, somewhat psychedelic, new single 'No More Flowers'. Upon first listen, there's something whimsical and cartoonish about the instrumentation, which makes total sense when Lena explains: "I’d been re-watching Studio Ghibli films at the time and fell in love with some of the earlier heavily synth driven soundtracks. I liked the idea of some the parts sounding like creatures from another world in conversation with each other, which Rob (Pemberton) managed to emulate better than I could imagine." Lyrically contemplating change and acceptance, specifically referring to the breakdown of close relationships, 'No More Flowers' is a soothing sonic journey through a contemplative state. -Holly Mullineaux
