Alongside the announcement of her highly-anticipated debut album Desert Window, British talent Lucy Gooch shares its unfurling lead single 'Like Clay'. Releasing through respected indie Fire Records, Gooch marries her affections for folk and electronics on the effortless introduction, explaining, “It came together simply and is the song that flows the most naturally”. We're inclined to agree, as sweeping layers of vocals move purely yet coherently like the instinctive meanderings of a river. Set over gentle electric guitar and blissful synths there's a touch of the Kate Bushes about her idiosyncratic arrangement. Using the voice as the focus of the piece, different timbres and delivery styles add depth and relatability to the calming lyricism of 'Like Clay'.
