LEWSBERG SIX HILLS
Following deep tan's frisky 'tamu's yiffing refuge', the newest Speedy Wunderground single, 'Six Hills' by Lewsberg, is a quintessential release from the cult label. Described by the NME in 2019 as "Rotterdam's answer to the Velvet Underground", the experimentally-inclined guitar band have been on Speedy's radar for a while. The product of their collaboration is a chugging slice of hair-brained krautrock, characterised by forthright vocals that are both contemplative and matter of fact. The band explain: “When you keep fighting over things that are really important to you, you could decide to stop arguing with people, and try killing them with kindness instead. You might find out this works. Then, accidentally, you might also find out that you don’t even have to kill. You might just as well just be kind. But it’s a thin line. Sometimes, it can even be kind to kill someone.” Listen to 'Six Hills' here now. -Holly Mullineaux
