LEE SCOTT & HYROGLIFICS A MOST DIFFICULT PATH

Lee Scott grew up on a council estate that no longer exists in Runcorn, in the North of England. An accomplished producer and rapper, Scott set up Blah Records with his friends back in 2006, a label with a focus on (but not exclusively), Northern rappers and hip hop artists. The label is also home to TMR favourite, Kenyan-born Nah Eeto. Lee Scott last released music in 2020, when he teamed up with Morriarchi on the album Friend, Come to Me and be saved, featuring a track with Blah Records signee, Black Josh. Taken from Lee Scott & Hyroglifics' forthcoming album [gate clicks shut], is the new single 'A Most Difficult Path'. The production from Hyroglifics is ominous from the outset with use of a melancholic piano loop and a lagging hip-hop beat. There's no doubt Lee Scott is a true wordsmith, he raps with flux and poetic delivery on every line, never missing a chance to say something profound; like in this line, 'I'm busy poetically professing my own ignorance the filth in the cracks so beautifully articulated eye candy will become inundated with bitter hatred'. Listen to 'A Most Difficult Path' here and keep you eyes peeled for Lee Scott and Hyroglifics' album [gate clicks shut]. -Ellie Rose-Davies
