‘Heads Above Water’ is the new track from King Hüsky, the solo project of Norwegian metal band Kvelertak guitarist Vidar Landa. His sound is worlds away from the gritty distortion of Kvelertak, and instead leans into an endearing indie fuzz, defined by beautiful sonic landscapes and his observational, humorous songwriting style. This track takes a look at conspiracy theories, with the artist noting that he “wondered how people who think inflation is connected to secret mazes, while licking a frog smuggled in from the Amazonas, can deal with everyday problems, like a bathroom leak or an insurance complaint.” His self-titled debut album drops on May 9th, 2025, via Hype City. -Dan Peeke
