KILU I WON’T FEEL YOUR LOVE AGAIN
London singer-songwriter Kilu has shared ‘i won’t feel your love again’, a minute long demo which serves as a glimpse into his creative and emotional world. In being a demo - a track somewhat untouched, unedited, arguably unfinished - which peels away layers of loss within a few emotive lines, this is a notably raw piece for Kilu. Particularly due to its accompanying short film “her”, in which Kilu delivers a monologue against a closed door as “Arthur”. In an authentic last ditch effort to connect with “her”, Arthur’s life updates, fond recollections and admissions of longing go unanswered. The cinematic element does well to really emphasise the emotion of the song, with the blank walls and choked-up tone reflecting the vast space within the track. Evoking the feel of Montell Fish and Moses Sumney’s early work, Kilu is able to create an otherworldly soundscape with his careful falsetto vocals, which in this instance, are paired with a glassy riff that embodies a forlorn acceptance. 'I won’t feel your love again/You don’t know me like you did/You won’t know me like you did' are the only repeated lines, but Kilu’s delivery and attentiveness within the visual concept embodies an honest dismal feeling. -Kayla Sandiford
