JUNODEF TIME FROZE WHEN I TOLD YOU I LOVE YOU
Sweden-formed, London-based band Junodef's darkness steeped brand of atmospheric art-pop won our hearts a while ago. Back with a vulnerable new single, 'time froze when i told you i love you' has been released as part of concert, festival and arts promoter FORM's special new music programme: FutureFORM, which aims to provide a platform for artistic development for UK based developing artists from underrepresented sections of the music industry, specifically those who identify as women, non-binary, trans and LGBT+ as well as people of colour. The third single from this series, which also includes the stunning 'UW4GM' by Joviale, amongst others, sees Junodef take the plunge into exposing territory as candidly poet lyrics are ethereally delivered atop of careful acoustic guitar, ominous bass and military beats. There's even a touch of Danny Elfman's melancholy whimsy in there, as unusual chord changes support the melodic vocals. The band elaborate: “(the song is) about those seconds when you've put your feelings in the hands of someone else and it feels like the world and everyone in it stops, and that moment as you're waiting for a response stretches out for eternity and you're left completely naked and powerless.”-Holly Mullineaux
