Idiosyncratic storyteller Junior Brother has shared the striking second single from his forthcoming The End. Already shaping up to be a seminal work, Junior Brother explains: "“The End” is one big lateral response to today’s modern world, relating the madness of recent years to being “led astray” in a Fairy Fort. Fairy Forts are ring-shaped banks of earth found throughout the Irish countryside, known to be charged with powerful energy. They are not to be meddled with in any way, and are to be treated with the utmost respect by both strangers and locals. The sound of “The End” is supposed to take the organic instruments of Irish traditional music and lift them somewhere else, like the otherworldly Irish music sometimes heard from Fairy Forts at twilight on country roads, impossible to recreate upon hearing.“The End” is supposed to represent the moment at the end of being led astray, after the grip of madness releases you and you suddenly see your way home. “The End” may reflect the doom of a world gone mad, but it also represents the end of darkness, and the start of a new road." Actualising his vision, 'Welcome To My Mountain' is a whimsical yet menacing follow up to the unhinged lead track 'Small Violence'.
