JESSICA WINTER WANNABE

Queen of top-lines, Jessica Winter lays her insecurities bare on 'Wannabe'. The third single from her forthcoming LP My First Album, is a perfectly-formed alt-pop track, channelling the golden era of late 90s bangers from Madonna to Garbage and Gwen Stefani. Set over chugging guitar strums, Winter's lyricism is relevant, relatable and unflinching in its vulnerability as she repeats: 'I wanna be you, but I'm not, guess I've got to be me'. Arriving alongside an equally memorable video, which sees Winter embody Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands, 'Wannabe' is another impeccable offering from one of the greatest musical minds of our time. My First Album will be released on the 11th of July via Lucky Number and they're certainly lucky to have her. -Holly Mullineaux
