IT WAS ALL A DREAM REMEMBER ME

We've been long following the musical output of multi-instrumentalists Amy Maskell and Sophie Lowe, who now release music as It Was All A Dream. Formerly making up two thirds of the wonderful Peluché, who disbanded a few years ago now (and are definitely worth checking out it you haven't), the pair continue to make imaginative alt-pop, influenced by nineties electronic dance and seventies soul. Recorded and produced by fellow TMR favourite Liam Ramsden (pka Mellah), 'Remember Me' is a truly transportive listen. Moving through unexpected chord changes, driving live drums elevate surreal arpeggiated synths that wriggle and squiggle their way through the track. Vocally light and airy, the band explain: "'Remember Me' is a reminder of who you truly are during dark times. It’s an observation on seasonal change and growth, and how this affects our feelings. The video to the track was created by Daniel Norie, a Margate based installation and sculpture artist. Daniel symbolised the songs meaning beautifully with a bare boned metal sculpture growing petals as the track progresses through seasons." Guided to its conclusion by Lowe's accomplished clarinet toots, 'Remember Me' is yet another excellent example of the duo's innovative approach to songwriting.
