‘the moon in the morning’ is a haunting, ethereal release from Melbourne-based artist indyana. The track has slowly evolved from a soft lullaby written in her bedroom, into a powerfully emotional piece of cinematic folk, complete with a siren’s cry and a variety of intricately composed viola lines. It moves subtly from its soft opening moments into a thick-textured climax courtesy to indyana’s expert self-production. “I hope my track draws others’ attention to this great power of our moon,” she says, of the track’s purpose. “We are all 'navy babies' (children of the galaxy) but it is easy for us to get caught up in our earthling activities and forget to simply... exist.
