Last year's Centres album rendered Ian William Craig a visionary of murky soundscapes. Pulling together improvised sounds and creating these multi-layered beasts of unique creativity clearly wasn't enough for him though as now the composer returns with an album length EP of reworkings entitled Slow Vessels. Whittling back the originals to their own original bare structures, the artist has cleverly mutated his own forms, bringing new evolution to the piano and acoustic guitar tracks. 'Arrive Arrive' is barely recognisable with the inner process of its making being exposed. An interesting project from a promising artist that doesn't shy away from turning his own work on its head. - SJ
