The alt-electronic sextet holybones have dropped their new single, ‘Saltywater’. They weave a sound that blends hope and disconnection with the feeling of being a young adult lost in chaos. Tight, groovy drums underpin widescreen production that acts as a bed for a distant, almost chanted vocal hook. On the self-directed video that accompanies the track, they say: “We wanted the video to show how letting go of the past can be violent and difficult, but it can lead to a confusing and complicated freedom. We have roots where we shot it and it felt right to tell a bit of an urban myth for this one.” The collective are gearing up to release a new project in September 2025. -Dan Peeke
