H. HAWKLINE EMPTY ROOM
Getting close to the release of his new album Milk For Flowers, the whimsically-inclined H. Hawkline examines love and loss on 'Empty Room'. Gently ushering a touching vocal performance, comforting drums support airy piano parts and considered guitar strums as Hawkline's lyricism veers between the abstract and the very literal. In his own mind, "('Empty Room' is) A song about the middle, written before and after. I used to think that if I stayed very still, I could stop time. Houses possess this ability: moments become trapped in stillness, the whole room frozen, too big to fit through the door. I think it was me who moved. My coat buttons are made of snow, I fasten them on the beach as I think of you.” Milk For Flowers will arrive on the 10th of March through Heavenly Recordings and you can catch H. Hawkline live in the UK, kicking off his tour in Cardiff on the same day. -Holly Mullineaux
