Naarm/Melbourne-based six-piece Gut Health have dropped their new single, ‘Cool Moderator’. It’s an angular track filled with moments of individual inspiration that stems from each member of the band’s vastly different musical background. The motorik drum pattern provides the perfect bed for a dissonant, explorative bassline to wander, while dual guitars twist, turn and interrupt with noise and chromaticism. At the top, sits a swaggering lead vocal delivered with a punky bite. Gut Health are releasing their debut album, Stiletto, on October 11th, 2024, via Highly Contagious / AWAL. “Uncertainty plays a lot through the album, we don’t want the listener to know exactly what is going to come next in the album to create excitement, intrigue and unease when faced with a present unknown,” they explain. -Dan Peeke
