With their second album On All Fours due to be released on January 29^th 2021, South London’s Goat Girl have dropped their latest tune, ‘Sad Cowboy’, and its accompanying music video. Through the distant opening synth sounds and twanging guitars, the track kicks off almost Mac Demarco-esque in sound. The music changes colour as quickly as what we see on screen, with insistent bass and drums supporting an almost matter-of-fact vocal delivery. There is a punky sensibility running through ‘Sad Cowboy’, but the post-punk side of things is brought to the forefront through their dreamy, trancey aesthetic.
