FRQNCY LDN SOARING ABOVE THE NAVE

‘Soaring Above the Nave’ is the new single from FRQNCY LDN, the latest project from Alex Lavery and James Ford. The track closes their debut album and the live set it was taken from, explaining that it was “a last-minute addition to the arrangement, closing the set with a root frequency set by a small Tibetan singing bowl producing a tone close to a high-pitched F sharp. Joy and jeopardy throughout the set was enhanced by how the root tones set from gongs or bowls changed as the temperature rose.” Musically, it’s a true experience - the low drone that sits in the background offers a bed for embellishment, with clarinet and violin combining with harp and cello to create a unique sonic tapestry that intertwines with the singing bowl and a subtle layer of distortion. FRQNCY LDN have released their debut album, The White Edition, which is out now via PRAH Recordings. -Dan Peeke
