Taken from the recent SPC-140 by Fort Romeau, ‘Organelle’ is an inventive journey through ambience and retro sounds. The beautifully mixed drum and bass accompaniment contrasts the noise-heavy organ sound that penetrates the mix, providing a distinctively nostalgic feel. The atmosphere builds as strings create an epic swelling of sound that brings the piece to its climax. The Berlin/London-based producer started his summer with a kick, as he was asked to contribute the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and it only went up from there with the release of Untitled III and Pablo elevating his position as an essential floor-filler. -Dan Peeke
