FOR THOSE I LOVE MIRROR
Vital Dublin multi-disciplinary artist For Those I Love has shared the cutting final preview of his forthcoming second album Carving The Stone. Maintaining (and superseding) the emotional intensity of previous singles 'Of The Sorrows' and 'No Scheme', 'Mirror' is arguably For Those I Love's most affecting work to date (which is no mean feat by the way). Seething with a combination of anger, frustration and repulsion, 'Mirror' examines Dublin's relationship with Technofeudalism - a theory which argues that we have undergone a transition to a post-capitalist world in which we are all digital serfs, enslaved by our new feudal overlords in Silicon Valley. Sonically sharp and unrelenting, a savage bass sound is foreboding and hard as fuck, building constantly towards a line that releases the tension. 'If I'm gonna bleed then make me bleed with a knife I can see' sums up the feeling succinctly and opens the door to 'Mirror's unfiltered outro, which refuses to sugarcoat a single thing. It's the kind of track that'll leave you changed and that's exactly why you should listen to it. Carving The Stone will arrive on the 8th of August. -Holly Mullineaux
