Post-punk trio Dancehall have revealed their new cut, ‘Modern Age’. This politically-charged track is as punchy as you’d expect it to be. At its core, the track is defined by a jagged, spiky post-punk sensibility. However, the airy textures of the verses hint toward shoegaze influences, while the chorus bursts to life with indie catchiness and huge, widescreen guitar chords. This feels like a tightening and sharpening of what made the band interesting in the first place. “This song covers some ground,” they say. “From pollution to right-wing mob politics. Misinformation from mainstream media to the youth of today having to pretend to be something or someone different in order to ‘fit in’.” The band’s new album, 100% Music, is due for release on October 24th, 2025, via Vibe/Anti-Vibe. -Dan Peeke
