CORTNEY DIXON CRY ABOUT IT

South Shields artist Cortney Dixon has revealed her new track, ‘Cry About It’, lifted from her Hazard A Guess EP. It’s a confident, guitar-filled, glam-punk explosion that is juxtaposed by a sense of post-industrial Northern realism. She describes the song as “giving a middle finger to jobs that try to dull you down, suck the life from you and shake the dreamer out of you.” Like much of the rest of the EP, this track finds a unique place between the writing sound of Wolf Alice, the indie edge of Wet Leg, and the nostalgic sass of Blondie. Hazard A Guess is out now and you can catch her live around the UK in the coming months. -Dan Peeke
