Making quite the stir with their “debut” single ‘In Motion’, is new London-based band, Colouring. Diving head-first into a deep sea of thick reverberating bass, glitchy - crackling electronic percussion, and high reaching echo-soaked vocals, this is a debut offering of the highest order. It’s besides the point that they once operated under a different name - sometimes a little rebrand can reinvigorate artists who perhaps were feeling restricted by their previous guise. On the evidence of ‘In Motion’, the talented quartet (newly signed to Interscope) are capable of delivering tracks of supreme quality. Bending genres, refusing to adhere to common song structures, but hinting at the pop-inflected songwriting ideas of their past endeavours, Colouring sound like they’re onto something here. -JC
