CLARE ROUSAY IT COULD BE ANYTHING
Wearing a thick coat of auto-tune, claire rousay surrenders a stream of romantic worries on 'it could be anything'. Thudding along at a crawling tempo, which stands in direct contrast to the undoubtedly racing thoughts that inspire the lyrics, slow-core guitar plucks ring out over the residual ambience as rousay explains: “It’s the story of a lover out with someone else while you’re already involved with them… the anxiety that comes from sitting around knowing what could be happening with them while one is not there. Just sitting at home freakin’ out. Kinda a cheating song, kinda a jealousy song, kinda an apology.” Cradled by melodic vocal melodies and the gradual introduction of emotive strings, that pull on the ones in your heart, it's an honest and direct outpouring of inner turmoil. She continues: “I have been on a quest to communicate my feelings and ideas as clearly as possible lately. Pop seemed like the way to do that this time.” claire rousay's new album sentiment will arrive on the 19th of April, and if the singles are anything to go buy, it's going to be a stunner. -Holly Mullineaux
