CASE BARGé TABOO

Case Bargé is a rapper from Cleveland whose lyricism always digs beneath the surface, and his sound is based around hip-hop and electronics. Having a close encounter with death, battling a hernia in the brain, and being robbed at gun-point, Case Bargé aims to be the role model he never had, and to empower future generations. He's just dropped his third album Rel!lience, Vol. 1. From glancing at the titles of the tracks, such as 'Gratitude', 'Ignorance' and 'Balance', you can tell that this album is going to be a powerful offering. Second track on the album is called 'Taboo'. The track uses philosophical narration that makes you question your thought process and reality; 'Once you get the sense of polarity, of your inside being the same process as your outside, and your ego being one and the same process as the whole universe going on'. The production is fairly relaxed, with a subtly trap-tinged beat and horn samples. Case Bargé continues the this philosophical trail of thought with his words, he mocks, 'Don't show too much love, you'll look like a fool'. Check out 'Taboo' here! -Ellie Rose-Davies
