‘Jacky’ is the chaotic new track from Irish four-piece Bleech 9:3. It opens with the heavy, distorted chaos we are used to from the post-punk alt-grunge band. The verses are distilled down to a driving, bass-heavy accompaniment, before everything explodes outward for the huge, anthemic choruses. Vocalist and guitarist Baz says of the new track: “To me it is in part about my own life and in part the lives of those with whom I shared the illness of drug addiction with as a young person back home in Dublin. Though it is not specifically about being an addict, that’s just one way people lose themselves and too often their lives. I’m talking about that loss and the difficulty with understanding it.” There’s more to come from Bleech 9:3 soon. -Dan Peeke
