Brighton-based eight-piece big long sun have dropped their new single, ‘my stars aligning’. The track brings together the wonky psychedelia the productive band have become known for, and combines it with the slick songwriting of the pop greats, and an eclectic instrumental lineup (including accordion, organ, recorder, tin whistle and clarinet) that ushers them into a new sonic era. big long sun’s main man, Jamie Broughton, says that it’s “a song written for love lost and love regained.  A timeless love song, in other words. One that resonates with both extremes. This track also marks the first time that I am bringing other big long sun members into the recording process. With over half the band featuring on backing vocals and added violin and guitar.” Catch the band performing as a frenzied octet at London’s The Windmill on December 3rd, 2025. -Dan Peeke
