Underground producer Belfort's most recent piece is built around deep, prominent bass, which accompanies the vocals throughout the track, combining with the percussion to create a unique backing to his soulful vocal delivery. ‘What Up’ takes on the semi-rare approach of using a verse-chorus structure in a deep house track, but it works as the interchange between bouncy verses and catchy choruses keep the piece interesting.
