BABY SAID DEAD TO ME
Italian-Punjab sisters Baby Said have revealed their new track, ‘Dead To Me’. It’s a heavy, menacing track that catches the ear instantly with a fuzz-laden bass riff, before mellowing out into a verse filled with sinister tension. The chorus is a huge slab of texture, topped by the sisters’ vocal harmonies. On the video that accompanies the track, they explain that “we decided that we should be fake kidnapped and pretend to bury each other. As the sisters who definitely never argue, we both thought this was a great idea. We managed to get the use of a derelict Pub in Portsmouth called The Invincible which was being demolished as we arrived. We quickly filmed all the interior shots and headed down to Hayling Island beach to dig a grave, but what we didn’t realise was that just beneath the sand surface it was all stones and it took us about an hour to dig a hole big enough while the temperature dropped to minus 3 degrees.” You can check out Baby Said’s debut album, BS, now. -Dan Peeke
