AUGUSTINE CAMPUS
‘Campus’ comes from the mind of Augustine, who has just dropped his fantastic new album, Youth And Why It Ends. This track is a mellow, hazy composition that develops a psychedelic, lo-fi sound courtesy of the warm synth accompaniment and distant drum pattern that underpins his melodic, often impressively high and falsetto, voice. The album as a whole is a reflective, mourning piece that looks back on how youth will never return in a variety of ways. “Suddenly, there's so much responsibility, and I can't really blame anything on youthful recklessness anymore,” he says. “Everything weighs a bit heavier with each passing year, and I'm probably right in the middle of some kind of transition.” Make sure to give the full ten-track LP a spin. -Dan Peeke
