Irish singer-songwriter Annika Kilkenny has dropped her latest single, ‘Tango’. The track, which shines a light on Kilkenny’s gift for creating exciting and unique acoustic music, is built around a variety of moody ‘James Bond’ chords. It shows off her blend of classical, folk and jazz influences while retaining her ear for a memorable vocal melody. “The idiom ‘the ball is in your court’ drove the lyrical concept for this song with how the verses embody a back-and-forth, my-move-your-move motif,” she says. “Only later did this inspire the title of the track to be dubbed the name of the fiery Latin dance.” Her new EP, Me In The Mud, is out now. -Dan Peeke
