France-based Italian artist Alessio Peck has revealed his intriguing new single, ‘Mamma’. It catches the ear immediately with a drum pattern that finds its place somewhere between breakbeat and post-punk. The intense groove remains ever-present as the track introduces bleak, industrial synths and a driving bass line. Despite its rave-ready vibe, the track retains a seriously broody darkness that pushes it into that Nine Inch Nails-shaped liminal space between rock and electronic music. “I want to break down the barriers between electronic music and rock, and blur the lines between singer-songwriter and DJ,” he says.
