Ain’t, a London-based five-piece who have garnered an impressive word-of-mouth following based on the strength of their live performances alone, have finally released their debut single, ‘Oar’. Their chunky, gritty sound is a blend of post-punk and shoegaze, resulting in something that fits into the sound of modern London, while referencing the echo of 90s America. Its dark, sardonic lyrics guide us through a sonic journey that begins relatively tender, and ends up in a barrage of industrial noise. The track was first constructed during the pandemic, driven “by the lack faith of those in charge.
