26 year-old South Korean, L.A-based rapper, singer, DJ and producer 박혜진 Park Hye Jin has released her new EP How can I on Ninja Tune, following her 2018 debut EP IF U WANT IT. The second track into the new EP 'Can you' is a thundering techno anthem, softened with a sweet, vibraphone-like keyboard. When it kicks in, Hye Jin's Korean vocal rides rhythmically over the monotonous four to the floor beat. The English-sung vocal line "can you be my baby" acts as a constant vocal hook that goes from hiding under the production, to making its way to the surface. Later, Hye Jin comically replaces the line with "Cos I fucking hate you".
