DREAMTX IN TOO DEEP
'Post-post-rock' artist dreamTX announces debut album 'living in memory of something sweet' with label Memorials Of Distinction and releases new single 'In Too Deep'. Dallas-born musician dreamTX aka Nick Das creates glitched out sonic tapestries, warped and hyper-saturated pop songs woven from sampled and resampled sounds that are reminiscent of the melodic pop of Animal Collective or the hazy shoegaze of Parannoul. 'In Too Deep' features heavily affected vocals that shift in and out of focus through a dense swirl of synths and samples and pulsing percussion, here Das explains the tracks convoluted origins, "I conceived the song on New Years day, programmed most of the drums in public libraries in Dallas, and wrote and recorded everything else in a diy studio inside a pool house designed by vanilla ice. I’m not sure what I was thinking about then, but there was confinement in my existence. Dallas, barista, living with mom. I was extremely pilled by the millennial new age movement… attending zen temple every week for an hour of meditation, and microdosing LSD every few days. I was tight, wound up, constricted, and maybe this song was some externalized way of breaking free. It's the song that broke the album, where I discovered that sampling all the awful songs I was writing could be turned into something grand and beautiful, expressive." living in memory of something sweet is set for release on limited edition CD and download on the 28th of July. -Toby Evans-Jesra
