Oddball Kentucky trio Wombo release new single ‘Below the House’ on Fire Talk Records, accompanied by a surreal animated video directed by guitarist Cameron Lowe. The track bends between off-kilter mathy rhythms and ethereal dream poppy vocals, culminating in a fuzzed out glitchy guitar solo that winds its way through the full final minute of the song. The video shows the band inhabiting constantly shifting rooms, drifting in floating houses surrounded by weird visions through windows that combine with the lyrics (many of which came to singer Sydney Chadwick in a dream) to create a trippy domesticity and a latent sense of unease; “buried beneath the house”. -Toby Evans-Jesra
