Due to complete her forthcoming EP We Get What We Get & We Don’t Get Upset, 'Leaving' is another astonishingly unique tune from Manchester composer, musician and producer Carmel Smickersgill. Following 'Greeting' and 'Questioning', the purity of 'Leaving's intentions shines through in the floaty instrumentation as Smickersgill explains: "It’s maybe a bit of a cliché but I didn’t want to end the EP it on a sad note, hence why it’s a pretty upbeat track." Throughout our newly-established admiration for this artist, we've learnt to expect curveballs as she masterfully pulls and pushes her compositions in joyous and unexpected directions, providing numerous satisfying moments; and this is no exception.
