If you’re unfamiliar with North London band Wyldest, you’re in for a treat. The trio are singer Zoe Mead, multi-instrumentalist Mariin Kallikorm and drummer Jack Gooderham, and together have garnered support from 6Music, Huw Stephens and Line Of Best Fit with their shiny synth-pop and huge choruses. Capitalising on the recent buzz created by ‘The Poet’, Wyldest have just announced a forthcoming EP, Hitchhiker, and have just dropped the title track. It’s everything we’ve come to expect, with a full synth backdrop, stomping 80s beats and Mead’s dreamy vocals. Speaking about the track, Mead says: “Hitchhiker’ is about the dream many of us have about 'escaping' society and rejecting materialism in favour of living alone with nothing but nature, our own thoughts and air in our lungs.” Hitchhiker is out in full on 29^th September via tastemaker label Hand In Hive.
