Having racked up a quarter of a million plays on Soundcloud for her debut single ‘BARE’, London’s own WILDES is back with new single ‘Ghost’. It’s a striking return to form, which contrasts sparse, atmospheric vocals with choruses that build to a deeply intense and evocative crescendo. Ever-present are WILDES’ gorgeous vocals, which are soft, delicate and haunting, not dissimilar to Hannah Reid from London Grammar. It comes as little surprise to learn, therefore, that WILDES musical influences include female powerhouses Lorde, Angel Olsen and Cat Power. ‘Ghost’ is just one track from WILES forthcoming debut EP, due to be released on her own label, Hometown.
