With a rolling harp, jazzy beats and synths as retro as your mum’s favorite 70s jacket, Thandii’s new track ‘Another One’ marks the start of her new musical era. According to Thandii, the song was “created here (in Margate) and Graham and I were trying to bring in this element of easy-breezy, ‘70s dreamy kind of thing….all the ‘e’ words haha! But still kind of being experimental with the vocal placement or the drum sound”. It’s the first track we’ve heard since Thandii did a spot of late night life-betting and ended up moving to Margate, which she describes as "a kind of west coast on the east coast…but colder!". There’s absolutely nothing cold about ‘Another One’, however, which has all the warmth of a 70s-inspired experimental electro track. It’s no surprise therefore, that Thandii has been chosen as one of the BBC Introducing Picks of 2018. Catch her live show at the Seabright Arms on 29^th March. -HM
