TĀLĀ has been at the helm of globalistic R&B since the emergence of The Duchess EP, accompanied by her travel diary video for ‘Serbia’, emphasising her formative East-meets-West style. A generous string of tracks and four EPs later, London’s TĀLĀ is pushing her sound even further into the electronic realm as heard on ‘Tell Me That’, a new single made with AlunaGeorge’s George Reid. Together the production pair offer up crisp electronic beats, tromboned bass, surgically precise synths, a rather fantastic hand drum pattern, chopped and changed vocal samples from booming lows to unnatural highs, and of course, TĀLĀ’s untouched verses in which you can hear all her city-grown attitude.
