This past fortnight has been rather great for long releases, with Yellow Days’ Is Everything Okay In Your World? LP, Will Joseph Cook’s If You Want To Make Money EP, Mothica’s unfinished demos mixtape, Tom Tripp’s RED EP and now we’re ready to sink into Sylo Nozra’s deliciously smooth and syrupy EP, Fervor. Seven contemporary R&B tracks exercising interchangeable themes of love and lust make this EP, and with just one List Pick to choose we had to go for second single ‘Felt You’. A shuffling rhythm, heartbeat bassline, steady synth squeeze and lustrously lo-fi guitar lines set the romantic backdrop for the intimate interplay between Nozra and Yumi’s sensual vocals. This track is a great example of the Toronto singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist’s classy touch when it comes to current R&B and soul. Perfect late night listening if you ask us. -HT
