When you flick on the video to Someone’s new single ‘Chain Reaction’, you might not hit on what you’re expecting. The video starts as a silent, 1920s-inspired film starring a woman who finds a tiny button on her head saying ‘PRESS ME’. On doing so, the song starts in earnest – completely freaking out the period characters. It’s brilliant, awkward and juxtaposes hilariously with the indie-rock track, which is the fourth and final single from Someone’s debut EP Chain Reaction. Speaking about her recent regeneration, which has born her first music in almost four years, Someone says: “I wanted a name that meant: Don’t worry about who I am. Just check out what I make. I make a lot. Some you may like, some you may not. But I’ll like it. And you know what, I’m someone too.” We’re willing to bet that you will like it – and the video even more so.
