Legendary producer MJ Cole and up-and-coming talent Alyss have come together on new single ‘Undo’. Cole was classically trained at the Royal College of Music, an asset heard in this track's sensitive and lyrical keyboard lines. Counterbalanced against this are crisp, garage influenced beats – no doubt a nod to Cole’s garage heritage – and some seriously stylish production touches. It comes as no surprise that ‘Undo’ was co-produced by Two Inch Punch, who has lent his skills to hits by Sam Smith and Jessie Ware. The result is a polished record which showcases the two artists’ exceptional production skills, as well as Alyss’ vocals. A recent signing to PMR (Disclosure, Julio Bashmore), Alyss is slowly but surely carving out a reputation for her soulful, laid back vocals. Having received acclaim for her debut EP Answers, she’s already collaborated with the likes of Snakehips, SG Lewis and Chloe Martini. We can only hope that ‘Undo’ is a sign of more to come soon from the young talent. -HM
